Ancestry.com providing family trees to more than 2 million subscribers has been offline for two days following massive DDoS attack on Monday June 16. Ancestry.com has not informed whether there has been a demand for ransom as was the case with several other online services. On the next day, code sharing service Code Spaces was hit by another DDoS attack and subsequently its Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) control panel has been compromised. Code Spaces denied to pay the ransom required by the attackers and most of its data from EC2 have been deleted. Codespaces later announced that it shuts down operation because the damages to the data and reputation are irrepairable.
