FireEye has demonstrated ability of a malware installed on Apple iOS device to monitor user actions on background. The proof-of-concept malware is able to track home button and volume button presses as well as any touches on the screen. This allows to develop a “keylogger“ malware for iOS able to intercept user’s passwords and other sensitive data. Such malicious app would have to pass Apple review process to be hosted on the App Store but FireEye claims that it is able to bypass the review process “effectively“.
