U.S. card thefts – Michaels Stores and the extent of Neiman Marcus breach

Michaels Stores have admitted that this shop chain is another victim of the theft of data on payment cards in the U.S. after Target and Neiman Marcus. The extent of the breach has not been revealed. Customer’s cards data were stolen from Michaels Stores already in 2011. At that time, the breach affected almost 100,000 cards.

Meanwhile, the Neiman Marcus store chain has confirmed the extent of the breach announced earlier. Total of 1,100,000 payment cards were affected between July 16 to October 30, 2013. Of them, 2,400 were already fraudulently used.
