Syrian Electronic Army, a hacktivist group supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad has hacked social media accounts of Voice over IP company Skype (owned by Microsoft). The attack targeted Skype’s Twitter and Facebook account as well as official blog. Surprisingly, the message posted by the SEA on these platforms did not react to current events in Syria as was the case with previous attacks of the SEA. Instead, the SEA warned against government surveillance of Microsoft’s e-mail services. According to announcement by Skype, no customer’s data were compromised during the attack.
