Two members of Russian cybercrime gang sentenced to jail

Two leading members of the gang responsible for spreading trojan malware Carberp were sentenced to 5 and 8 years in jail. Carberp has been one of the widespread trojan infecting users via Blackhole exploit kit and aimed at stealing money from internet banking of Russian users. The two leading members of the gang as well as about 20 “cashiers“ were arrested thanks to cooperation of the Russian Police, Bureau of Special Technical Measures of the Ministry of Interior and intelligence service FSB in March 2012. The gang managed to steal about 130 million rubles in two years.
