Subsequent to the wave of spam e-mails coming from AOL accounts, the company has discovered a data leak concerning some of its users. AOL claims that unknown hacker accessed  email addresses, postal addresses, address book contact information, encrypted passwords and encrypted answers to security questions of about 2% of all AOL accounts. AOL had 3.5 million customers in 2011 – a number that probably further declined since then. Although there is no reason to believe that passwords of security questions have been compromised, AOL nevertheless urges its customers to change them.
