Washington Post published another set of documents leaked by Edward Snowden. This time WP describes programs called Mystic and Retro. They are used to wiretap a phone conversations in a whole (unnamed) country and make them available for NSA’s analysts for 30 days. The program extends the known collection of call metadata to whole content of conversations. Although the country whose communications are wiretapped this way is not revealed. The documents suggest that it is one of the U.S. adversaries. Moreover, according to NSA budget, the Mystic program should have been extended to six more countries by October 2013 showing the collection and analytic capabilities of the NSA.
